MLB Betting Market Report through Games Completed 7-7

MLB Betting Online:

Friday, July 8th, 2011

The first half of the 2011 MLB betting season is about to head into the All Star Break, and we at Bookmaker Sportsbook are taking a look at which teams enter it hot with a chance to make noise in the second half and cold with no shot of playing the spoiler role.

Stock Up

Look out. Here come the Boston Red Sox 52-35 once again. The boys from Beantown are now 17 games above .500 and just took over the AL East lead once again from New York. The Sox are doing it on the road as well, going 27-18 in the first half of the season and up $549 on the MLB betting lines. Of course, Boston isn't the only newly crowned division leader in the AL.

The Texas Rangers 48-41 just took back over the division lead in the AL West by winning four games in a row.

In the AL Central, the Cleveland Indians 47-39 and the Minnesota Twins 39-47 have both won seven of their last 10 games.

In the NL, the team that is really on a role is the Atlanta Braves 53-36, who have the second best record in all of baseball. Unfortunately, that mark is also the second best record in their own division. The Philadelphia Phillies 55-33 have that best mark in MLB betting action this year and have won seven of their last 10.

Finally, we're going to keep harping on how well the Pittsburgh Pirates 45-42 have played this year. They're just a game back in the NL Central and are sporting the second best mark against the MLB betting lines in baseball up $1,323 for their wagering supporters.

Stock Down

We continue to say "Bah Humbug" to the Colorado Rockies 41-47, who have dropped five in a row and are probably out of the playoff race at this point. Don't feel bad for the Rocks, though. At least they're not the Houston Astros 30-59, who are only playing .337 baseball on the yeaR.

In the American League, the haves and the have nots are really starting to sort themselves out. We know that the Seattle Mariners 43-45 have dropped two straight, and in spite of the fact that they are just 4.5-games out of the playoffs, they don't feel like they have much of a chance to win any given night unless Felix Hernandez or Michael Pineda are on the bump.

2011 MLB Odds

Aside from that, we're shaking our heads at the Kansas City Royals 36-52, Baltimore Orioles 36-49, and the Toronto Blue Jays 42-47, who have all dropped at least seven of their last 10 and are ready to start selling at the trade deadline.

And then there are the Chicago White Sox 43-46, who still might be the most disappointing team in all of baseball in 2011, let alone the AL Central. The Pale Hose have lost three in a row going into this last series before the All Star Break, and they are definitely not a side you want to back right now in MLB betting action.
